The main house of the beautiful Oaks Country Club in Goose Creek was built in 1892 and renovated in 1930. Unfortunately a fire destroyed the back portion of the building a few years ago and the ballroom and pool and been now been removed. This beautiful structure is important to me and my family because my father as a young man was a gold pro here and my mother worked in the pro shop, I learned to swim here and in turn taught each of my siblings to swim each summer. We spent endless hours in the pool and gathered stray golf carts when needed for Daddy until he left for another job opportunity. This was a place of our childhood and adolescence, a sweet memory of home.
